The Honorable Bill Bogaard, who made history as Pasadena’s first directly elected Mayor in 1999, and whose dedicated public service and respected leadership in this City has spanned nearly four decades, will be recognized as the 2015 Contemporary History Maker by Pasadena Museum of History.

“Especially knowing that he has a huge transition ahead of him before the September Gala, the Trustees and I are honored that the Mayor has accepted our invitation to celebrate him and his lasting contributions to the City.  His influence in Pasadena and unwavering support of nonprofits, including Pasadena Museum of History, for more than forty years was on all of our minds when we asked if he would be our next Contemporary History Maker.” explains PMH Executive Director Jeannette O’Malley. Board President John O. Baatz expands, “Mayor Bogaard will add significantly to the list of more than fifty History Makers that we have honored since 2000, which includes his wife Claire who joined the illustrious group in 2003.  It is difficult to imagine anyone better fitting the description of a Contemporary History Maker: an individual whose civic passion, innovative design, or charitable interests continue to shape Pasadena’s unique and rich heritage.” The Contemporary History Maker Gala is open to the public with tickets starting at $400 and Patron Seats priced at $550. Sponsorship opportunities are available.  Proceeds from the Gala benefit Pasadena Museum of History’s educational programs.
